Job Summary

Responsible for providing customer technical support for all AFL cable and connectivity products into the Hyperscale Service Provider and/or Enterprise Markets. Supports the commercial team efforts by providing product installation expertise building customer relationships and providing technical support for trade shows and seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with product installation questions.
  • Provide product demonstrations to customers.
  • Provide approximately 4050 hours per month of technical oversight at customer site ensuring compliance with client-specific requirements and supporting project execution (12-18 months)
  • Provides support to further develop installation and training documentation for cable and connectivity system products.
  • Assist with new product development for cables and accessories by providing installation insight.
  • Supports the development of application notes instruction manuals and application videos for products.
  • Interact with product managers application engineers and customer service representatives as required.
  • Travel to customer sites and train end users on proper installation techniques.
  • Develop and/or update quality procedures and documentation for his/her area as applicable.
  • Follow know promote and demand the fulfillment of the Environment Health and Safety (EHS) policy rules procedures and operative controls to maintain and improve our performance on these matters.
  • Identify clients requirements on sustainability needs from our products.
  • Inform EHS department for any requirements from clients that involves new materials or processes changes to identify environmental health and safety impacts.

  • Advanced Installation knowledge of cable and connectivity products
  • Solid understanding of the telecommunications industry
  • Moderate skills with Microsoft PowerPoint Excel Word and Project
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • 5 years of Service Technician Lab Technician or Process Technician experience with a focus on passive fiber optic systems of cable or connectivity products

Working Conditions

  • This role is primarily remote but requires onsite presence at client site during the first year creating a hybrid work arrangement to meet client-specific needs.
