Position Overview
ANC is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer based in Bella Vista NSW to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of our bi-weekly payroll while supporting the continuous improvement of payroll systems and compliance processes.
This role is pivotal in maintaining payroll integrity providing expert support on award interpretation and collaborating across departments to uphold our commitment to accuracy compliance and exceptional employee service. You will also contribute to financial accounting functions such as journal entries and reconciliations and play an active role in system enhancements that drive efficiency and scalability.
What youll be doing
- Manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing ensuring timely and accurate employee payments.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements internal controls and ATO reporting obligations.
- Maintain data accuracy across payroll and workforce management systems.
- Partner with Department Managers to validate rosters timesheets and pay data.
- Provide expert advice on award interpretation and handle complex payroll queries.
- Calculate and process leaves and redundancy payments.
- Prepare journal entries for payroll integration into the accounting system.
- Assist with account reconciliations for superannuation payroll tax and workers compensation.
- Support internal and external audits system improvements and payroll-related projects.
- Promote a culture of safety compliance and continuous improvement within the Finance and Payroll teams.
- Support as required with the ad-hoc work and ERP system.
What are we looking for
- 3 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a medium to large organisation preferably in Transport and Logistics industry.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation compliance and modern awards.
- Experience with Workforce Management and Payroll systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex awards and agreements.
- Sound knowledge of journal preparation reconciliations and payroll accounting entries.
- High level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Self-motivated proactive and able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
