Outwood Academy Acklam the first Outwood school in Teesside has an enrollment of almost 1200 students each academic its most recent assessment it was recognised as a GOOD school.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) is an education charity and not-for-profit sponsor of over 40 schools.
Within the Teesside area we have 7 Secondary Schools and 1 Alternative provision all of which work collaboratively in a shared aim of providing an Outstanding quality of Education to students across the Teesside region from Redcar over to Stockton this is an opportunity for you to be a part of this journey.
Alongside our in-school support you will also have the opportunity to work with various Directors and Department Heads access to leadership roles in the DEEPS Structure as well as access to a wealth of other CPD opportunities such as NPQs through the Outwood Institute of Education.
About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join our team at Outwood Academy Acklam. The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who will play a key role in the ongoing health and welfare of students and staff. You will have experience of working with children and/or families within a safeguarding and child protection environment. A committed team worker you will carry a caseload and work on your own initiative. Time management skills are essential given the variety of this challenging yet rewarding role. Previous experience of working with children and families and with other agencies and recent experience of social services work in child protection is essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. The purpose of this post is to fulfil our responsibility in the safeguarding of our students and enhance the life chances of our students. The successful candidate will possess emotional resilience and the ability to communicate effectively with visitors staff and students and will be welcoming to all whilst operating in line with our safeguarding procedures.
