Job Description:
The Sr. Specialist Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that delivered products and/or services conform to contractual and the Companys requirements. The SQE will work closely with their assigned suppliers on activities such as Early Supplier Engagements First Article Inspections Root Cause / Corrective Action activities and audits. The SQE will also work with the assigned Contract Source Inspector to ensure that product releases are timely and meet the expectations of the internal customers. Up to 50% travel is required.
Essential Functions:
20% - Serve as the Supplier Quality Engineering First Article Inspection (AS9102) subject matter expert. Support the Supplier Quality Engineering department and suppliers in the FAI review approval training and maximizing First Time Acceptance. Experience in the FAI Planning Net Inspect and AI platforms utilized on a routine basis.
20% - Visit suppliers to review product & process issues. Interface with internal and external customers; i.e. engineering manufacturing supplier procurement to ensure requirements are met. Analyze supplier processes and planning to verify compliance with purchase orders engineering drawings processes specifications etc. Review and approval of supplier FAIs IAW AS9102.
20% - Visit suppliers and perform investigation and root cause analysis to drive improvements into their processes. Be accountable for assigned suppliers performance and ensure suppliers are performing with a 100% quality rating.
10% - Be an active contributor in Early Supplier Engagements such as Post Award Reviews (PAR) Supplier Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and Control Plan activity. Perform as the leading contributor for PAR-Lites.
10% - Work with suppliers to resolve issues with purchase order inspection packages. Investigate and report supplier quality history as requested by quality engineering or Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) management.
10% - Create reporting documents to status Suppliers Performance Non-Conformance History impact to the Companys CoPQ and other metrics as assigned.
5% - Participates in managing the supplier ratings/scorecard system and supporting periodic cross-functional supplier performance review meetings.
5% - Perform periodic source inspections at assigned suppliers.
