About the Role
We are on the lookout for a passionate Sr. Data Engineer to become an integral part of our team. As a Senior Data Engineer at QV you will be a key player in developing and managing our data infrastructure. Your role will involve a blend of technical expertise leadership and collaboration to ensure the optimization and scaling of our data systems. Location
This is a remote position. To support collaboration across the team attendance during our core working hours (MondayFriday 9:00 a.m.12:00 p.m. ET) is mandatory with the remainder of your schedule worked before or after these hours to fulfill full-time requirements.
A Day in the Life
As a Senior Data Engineer you will have a vital role in our engineering department driving the development and optimization of our data infrastructure and strategies. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Design build and maintain scalableETL/ELT pipelines across batch and real-time environments.
- Architect and manage ourOLAP data platform (Redshift and related components) and partner closely with Product Engineers onOLTP data DevOps to ensure smooth cross-system integrations and data flows.
- Build and optimize reliable observable and maintainable pipelines usingAWS GlueKafka/Kinesis and Python.
- Develop and enforce best practices forautomated testing data validation quality checks and CI/CD workflows for data systems.
- Collaborate closely withBIProduct Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements define data models and deliver actionable data products.
- Own and evolve data models that support analytics product usage tracking and real-time decision-making.
- Improve data reliability governance lineage and observability across the stack.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to setting strong engineering and data platform standards.
Who You Are
As a Sr. Data Engineer your unique qualifications and characteristics are vital to our teams success. You are/possess:
- 5 years as a Data Engineer or similar role working with large-scale data systems.
- Strong expertise inPython for building and orchestrating data pipelines.
- Deep experience withAWS Redshift including performance tuning modeling and workload management.
- Hands-on experience withAWS GlueKafka/Kinesis and streaming data patterns.
- Demonstrated experience withData DevOps practices including:
- Managing OLAP data infrastructure (data engineering responsibility)
- Coordinating OLTP data integration and operational workflows with product engineering
- Using tooling like Terraform CloudFormation GitHub Actions CodePipeline or similar
- Proven experience withautomated testing frameworks and CI/CD for data.
- Strong collaboration skills with bothBI teams andProduct/Feature teams translating data needs into system designs.
- A proactive ownership-driven approach and comfort with a fast-paced growth-oriented environment.
Nice To Haves:
- Experience withClickHouse or other OLAP/analytical databases.
- Exposure to workflow orchestrators (Airflow etc.).
- Experience with Docker ECS EKS or similar container platforms.
- Familiarity with data observability tooling.
- Experience with LLMs and MCPs
