Brightwater is part ofKing Countys regional wastewater systemand serves parts of north King County and south Snohomish County. The plant is located just north of Woodinville and is King Countys newest regional wastewater treatment facility. It features an educational and event centernatural areas and hiking trails andpublic art. The facility is nationally recognized for its award-winning design and its consistent compliance withstate and federal discharge limits.
The Brightwater Center strives to engage communities and address the needs of priority communities that they identify for themselves in support of the Divisions mission to protect public health and water quality. Our group focuses on equity and social justice and makes this a priority in all our work.
The Brightwater Plant has approximately 70 employees who operate and maintain the plant. The plant also serves as a worksite for contraction management personnel and administrative staff. It has a diverse workforce dedicated to supporting the mission of the Wastewater Treatment Division by safely operating and maintaining the facility to comply with environmental regulations.
Strip wax and scrub various types of floors; vacuum and extract dirt from carpets and machine-buff floors.
Clean stock and sanitize restrooms kitchens and public spaces including tables chairs toilets showers sinks and walls.
As directed mix and use cleaning solutions and chemicals.
Dust wash and vacuum surfaces.
Request and stock various types of supplies.
Empty trash.
Monitor and report any building equipment or safety issues to staff.
Support grounds maintenance including litter pickup and occasional outdoor tasks.
Follow established safety protocols and contribute to a culture of health and safety.
Clean glass windows and surfaces
May research and prepare bid specifications for cleaning equipment and supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Bring:
Knowledge of basic janitorial cleaning techniques.
Knowledge in the use and care of cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of basic safety rules and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and co-workers.
Knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals.
Effective communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to demonstrate behaviors that include fairness respect and inclusiveness.
Ability to work effectively with others in a work environment that embraces and encourages diversity in its workforce and where differences are valued.
One (1) or more years of recent professional industrial cleaning/janitorial work experience
