Position		Endoscopy Assistant
Rank		Patient Care Assistant I

Pay		HK$24875 HK$29305 per month Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of the contract with satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1.	Prepare and handle related items equipment environment and documents for various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to the endoscopy needs;
2.	Perform checking cleaning sterilizing and disinfection (reprocessing) of endoscopic equipments and other ancillary equipments and their routine maintenance and repairing;
3.	Assist in endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures;
4.	Assist in positioning of patients for the endoscopic procedures;
5.	Assist in observing measuring and recording patients vital signs and providing personal care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures in the Endoscopy Unit and in other hospital locations;
6.	Provide direct or indirect patient care such as arrangements for patients receiving queuing and leaving the department and assist in identifying transporting transferring and accompany the patient;
7.	Assist in transportation packaging supplementation application and storage of various endoscopic related accessories and supplies;
8.	Undertake clerical duties such as word processing computer applications and reception services when required;
9.	Assist in verifying and proper handling of patients specimens;
10.	Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1.	F.5/ S.5 with passes in HKCEE Chinese Language & English Language (Syl. B) or Level 2 or above in Chinese Language & English Language in HKDSE or equivalent (see Remark);
2.	Completed Corporate Patient Care Assistant (Endoscopy Assistant) Training Program organized by Hospital Authority (HA) (see Remark);
3.	Possess at least 3 years relevant work experience (see Remark);
4.	Able to speak fluent Cantonese write and read Chinese and English and speak English.

Preferred Attributes:

1.	Possess relevant working experience in hospital or other health care institution.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2) and (3) if find suitable will be employed to undergo at least 3 years on the job training. The staff will be initially appointed as Patient Care Assistant II at a monthly salary of $19764 to undergo at least 6 months structured departmental training or Corporate Patient Care Assistant (Endoscopy Assistant) Training Program organized by HA. After completing the structured departmental training or Corporate Training and passing the assessment their monthly salary will be adjusted to $21739. The staff will then continue to undergo an addition of at least 2 years on-the-job training including the Corporate Patient Care Assistant (Endoscopy Assistant) Training Program organized by HA. After completing a total training period of at least 3 years and passing the end of training assessment on skills and performance the staff will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant I at a monthly salary of $24875. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.
