Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site in Kilkenny that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.

Main purpose of the role

Develop implement and monitor detailed production plans to meet customer demand and optimise resource utilisation. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure key metrics are tracked and achieved while adhering to specified timelines. By ensuring timely delivery of finished goods the Production Planner helps maintain our reputation for reliability and customer service excellence.

Main responsibilities

Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand.

Monitor and control WIP and Finished Goods inventory levels.

Utilisation of SAP system to create and manage workflows and production schedules.

Maintenance for production planning master data and parameters on SAP ERP system.

Work cross-functionally within the supply chain team to create efficiencies in material and information flows.

Analysing demand forecasts inventory and production capacity and adjusting plans as needed.

Agree production plan and ensure flow of material through the site ensuring product availability per agreed commercial requirements.

Communication of shortfalls in production and impact to deliver desired volumes.

Continually seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

Assist in the creation and review of planned maintenance schedules.

Report daily on schedule adherence and identify potential supply issues.

Maintain open communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on production priorities.

Drive continuous improvement within the planning area to drive Operational Excellence and improved financial performance.

Support all product initiatives R&D and product launches

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum NFQ Level 7 or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

SAP experience preferred
Excel experience preferred
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Project Management experience preferred.
