Director of Finance

Since1981 Ronald McDonald House Toronto has served as a place to call home forfamilies with seriously ill children undergoing treatment. Ronald McDonaldHouse Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and sevenFamily Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury. Thefamilies we serve come from throughout Ontario across Canada and around theworld.

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Directorof Finance to join our leadership team at the House located at 240 McCaulSt. Torontoand play a vital role in ensuring the financial healthintegrity and sustainability of our organization.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO/CFO the Director of Finance willlead all aspects of Ronald McDonald House Torontos financial operations. Thismix of hands-on and strategic role oversees financial reporting budgeting andforecasting risk management and compliance ensuring that Ronald McDonaldHouse Toronto continues to operate with transparency accountability andfiscal responsibility.

The Director will work closely with the SeniorLeadership Team the Boards Finance and Audit Committee and externalauditors providing sound financial guidance that supports our mission andlong-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Financial Leadership and Reporting

  • Develop strengthen and implement financialpolicies systems and internal controls.

  • Overseefinancialreporting including monthly and annual statements dashboards and managementanalyses.
  • Prepareandpresent quarterly and year-end results to the CEO/CFO Finance and AuditCommittee and Board.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Leadannualbudget process and quarterly forecasts partnering with department leaders todevelop accurate actionable plans.
  • Conductfinancialanalyses cash flow management and investment monitoring in line withorganizational policies.
  • Provideinsightand recommendations to senior leaders to address trends variances andemerging risks.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Develop and maintain Ronald McDonald House Torontos risk management framework and foster a risk-aware culture.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place to safeguard assets and comply with all relevant laws and privacy standards.
  • Monitor evaluate and enhance internal systems for effective financial and operational governance.

Leadership& Collaboration

  • Lead mentor and develop the Finance team to ensure excellence in service delivery and financial stewardship.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve financial literacy and operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Oversee relationships with external service providers such as auditors IT and investment managers.

About You

You are a strategic yet hands-on financial leaderwho thrives in a mission-driven environment. You combine analytical excellencewith strong interpersonal and communication skills and take pride in buildingsystems and teams that empower others.

Education& Experience

  • CPAdesignation (CPA CPA-CA or CPA-CGA) with a relevantbachelors degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience infinance including at least 5 years in financial reporting or planning roles.
  • Experiencein the not-for-profit orhealthcare sector and familiarity with board governance is an asset.
  • Strongunderstanding of financial systems accountingstandards and compliance frameworks.
  • Provenexperience with budgeting forecasting and managingaudits.

KnowledgeSkills and Abilities

  • Completion of satisfactory reference check background check and a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Strongleadership and coaching skills with a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Stronganalytical problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Highlyorganized detail-oriented and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Strongtechnology proficiency (Microsoft Office and financial systems).
  • Integritydiscretion and alignment with Ronald McDonald Houses values of compassionrespect integrity and commitment.
