Travel: Up to 50% travel required
Job Summary: The Pediatric Physical Therapist provides comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for patients across various age groups with a primary focus on pediatric care. The role includes collaborating with interdisciplinary teams supervising support staff and ensuring high standards of care. This position emphasizes functional outcomes patient education and clinical excellence across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Care -
Perform evaluations and deliver physical therapy treatments for a broad range of pediatric and general patient populations.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.

Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

Provide clear customized home exercise programs and ensure caregiver understanding through feedback and demonstration.

Participate in care conferences and coordinate with referring providers and team members.
Patient Education & Support -
Educate patients and families on injury diagnosis functional limitations and self-care strategies.

Promote independence and empower families through training and support.

Provide consultation and in-services to healthcare teams as needed.
Administrative & Team Collaboration -
Maintain accurate documentation assessments and progress notes in alignment with regulatory standards.

Assist in clinic operations administrative tasks and special projects.

Direct and supervise Physical Therapist Assistants interns and other support staff.

Manage durable medical equipment needs fitting inventory and coordination with providers.

Support departmental initiatives performance metrics and continuous improvement efforts.
Compliance & Quality -
Adhere to APTA standards and state/federal regulatory requirements.

Stay current on billing procedures (Medicare Medicaid private payers) to support reimbursement.

Ensure clinic cleanliness equipment maintenance and proper inventory levels.
Qualifications: Education & Licensure: -
Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
OR
Bachelors or Masters degree from an APTA-approved program with 2 years of relevant experience and continuing education Required

Current Alaska Physical Therapy license Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Required

Valid drivers license Required
Experience: Skills & Competencies: Knowledge of: -
Pediatric and general musculoskeletal neurological and functional conditions
