Job Summary:
The Radiation Therapist provides local float coverage at two clinical sites in the Wilmington NC Coastal Region. The therapist will administer radiation therapy treatments assist with patient care and collaborate with the healthcare team. The role involves floating between two clinic locations and potential weekend work if equipment downtime occurs.
Location:Wilmington North Carolina United States
Responsibilities:
- Administer radiation therapy treatments according to established protocols.
- Assist with patient positioning and setup for treatment.
- Monitor patients during treatment and report any adverse reactions.
- Perform chart checks and ensure accurate documentation.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and protocols.
- Float between two clinic sites as needed.
- Participate in storm team and/or hurricane team duties if assigned.
- Assist with patient care for diagnoses including breast lung brain extremity skin electron prostate GYN pelvis GU pancreatic and esophageal cancers.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
- Experience in a clinic setting.
- Adult Outpatient experience.
- Tumor Localization experience.
- CBCT/kV/mV imaging experience.
- Experience with Benign Brain Tumors External Beam Therapy Gynecomastia Heterotopic Bone Keloids Prophylactic Treatments Prostate Cancer with Seeds/Fiducials Respiratory Gating Superior Vena Cava Tomo Therapy Hodgkins Lymphoma Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Pancreatic Cancer Testicular cancer.
- Experience with Varis- Vision/ ARIA ARIA TrueBeam.
- Chart check experience.
- Radiation Safety certification.
- ARRT (T) certification.
- BLS certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ARRT (R) certification.
Special Considerations:
- RTO after booking is not allowed.
- Call offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
- Floating will be required to other clinics.
- Weekend work may be required if machine downtime occurs.
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
- Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event mass casualty or disaster.
- Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
Scheduling:
- 5x8-hour shifts 0800-1700 Monday - Friday.
- Some days may require 9am to 6pm or 8 am to 5 pm shifts.
- Opportunities for 4x10-hour shifts may be available.
