Role Overview: The Director of Human Resources has primary responsibility for all personnel compliance employee relations staff development affirmative action and equal employment opportunity functions of the agency and provides advice and counsel to senior leaders on a range of personnel matters. The Director also participates in agency Human Resources initiatives and ensures delivery of system-wide services. Key Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and direction to the HR team to ensure HR programs align with business strategy and address employee needs.
- Coach and develop high performing HR team that works closely with all levels of employees.
- Create and lead HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high-performance culture that emphasizes innovation high standards goal attainment and the development of a top-performing and innovative workplace.
- Develop implement interpret and ensure consistent application of HR strategies guidelines and programs. Ensure flawless timely and consistent delivery.
- Assess and report on employee satisfaction in the spirit of continuous improvement leveraging data to inform opportunities to better support employees and foster high-performance.
- Management of all individual personnel and workforce management actions including hires promotions demotions transfers terminations and/or layoffs as necessary.
- Establish and/or recommend salary ranges offers and compensation adjustments and monitor salary reports for equity compression or other issues.
- Provide professional advice and counsel to supervisors and managers across entire range of employee relations and organizational matters including performance assessment and management corrective actions dispute resolution compensation and classification recruitment and retention and organizational structure and staffing.
- Develop and conduct HR related trainings for managers and employees
- Develop implement and assess agency HR and EEO/AA policies and practices to ensure compliance with employment law policies and procedures. Investigate refer and/or respond as appropriate to a wide variety of sensitive and complex internal or external inquiries issues complaints and/or grievances.
- Develop and maintain relevant personnel policies procedures records and the Personnel Manual according to VC WAC and Joint Commission standards and other governmental requirements.
- Support agency employee assistance and wellness initiatives.
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration and processing including salary setting workers compensation leaves and performance assessment.
- Establish and maintain a high level of trauma-informed customer service orientation within the department and across the agency.
- Effectively supervise and mentor staff.
- Inform the budget process regarding human resources matters.
- Provides courteous and helpful customer service to all employees and other contacts regarding human resources matters.
- Participates in Quality Improvement activities as requested/needed in a timely manner and assists with preparation of reports and data as required by funders accrediting bodies and internal requests for information.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
What Were Looking For: Minimum Qualifications Education: - Bachelors Degree with 8-10 years of professional human resources experience with at least 5 years of leadership experience.
- Masters Degree in related field with current HRCI and/or SHRM credential preferred
Experience: - Multi-site/location outpatient/inpatient clinical integrated health system and/or mental health care experience preferred.
- Demonstrated strategic HR excellence including leading/participating in change initiatives and in-depth knowledge of employment laws and applicable regulations.
- Proven ability to hire develop and retain effective diverse teams and to work in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership of both strategic and tactical HR functions as well as serve as a motivating staff manager.
- Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters excellent organizational skills
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of diversity inclusion and equity with workplace
- Knowledge of employment law federal/state.
- Thorough understanding of or ability to quickly learn the office equipment recordkeeping systems management information systems and related protocols used in the organization.
