Job Description:

As an Infrastructure Engineer at L3Harris you will be responsible for the design implementation and maintenance of our Layer-1 infrastructure and data center environments. You will ensure the reliability scalability and performance of our systems to support our business operations.

Essential Functions:

Design install and maintain Layer-1 infrastructure including cabling racks and network equipment.
Manage and support data center operations ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Perform regular inspections and maintenance of data center equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network issues.
Collaborate with network engineers system administrators and other IT professionals to support infrastructure projects.
Monitor data center environmental conditions and ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
Maintain documentation of infrastructure designs configurations and procedures.
Provide on-call support as needed for critical issues.
Strong knowledge of Layer 1 (Physical Layer) connectivity standards and network topologies.
Familiarity with cable testing tools (like OTDR for fiber) and experience troubleshooting physical layer issues.
Ability to travel up to 10-20%.
Ability to obtain clearance.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Proven experience in Layer-1 infrastructure and data center operations.
Strong knowledge of cabling standards network hardware and data center best practices.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and network issues.
Experience with data center management tools and monitoring systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g. BICSI Cisco CompTIA) are a plus.
Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
Proficiency in AutoCAD

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California Massachusetts New Jersey Washington and the Greater D.C Denver or NYC areas is $77500-$144500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state Hawaii Illinois Maryland Minnesota New York state and Vermont is $68000-$126000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
