Created in 2015 to align lighten and modernize infrastructure the Technology & Infrastructure (T & I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your role

We are seeking a Lead Business Analyst who will help the Corporation to get the maximum value from its HRIS. The Lead Business Analyst will help to find solutions to complex problems bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions and will act as the liaison agent between the business partners and the T&I resources required to solve gaps and problems through projects or operations. The person will play a lead role throughout our solutions lifecycles (e.g. solution analysis and development programming configuration testing maintenance and support) and support large corporate HR technology initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Legal P&C / SSC Solutions Portfolio you will be a key player in leading and coordinating the work of the team as well as coaching them. You will make sure that solutions or enhancements implemented in the various P&C / SSC systems are aligned with the entire portfolio and raise any potential problems to the Senior Manager of the Legal P&C / SSC portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HRIS subject matter expert specializing in Workday integrations.
  • Manage solution design activities such as requirements gathering system analysis system design.
  • Provide support assistance guidance and training to all analysts on the team.
  • In collaboration with the Workday functional team (People Systems and Analytics) and the portfolio Senior Manager participate in the identification of solutions as large corporate HR initiatives.
  • Participate in the scrum ceremonies with the developers teams and the scrum master.
  • Manage the analysts team workload based on requirements priorities and team availability including giving priorities to scrum master and developers.
  • Support development or modification of integrations and applications.
  • Lead solution testing activities (e.g. regression tests unit tests user acceptance tests).
  • Develop solutions related documents such as processes requirements and procedures using plain text flowcharts and maps.
  • Handle third level escalations with our vendors.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Bachelors degree or masters degree in Business Administration Information Systems Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 years of cross functional experience and in-depth hands on experience with HR Information Systems.
  • 3 years of experience with Workday Integrations.
  • Knowledge and experience with Web Services REST API XML XSLT SOAP WSDL JSON.
  • Knowledge and experience with or other integration techniques an asset.
  • Knowledge of HR business processes and their integration with other process areas (e.g. Finance Production etc.).
  • Experience in software integrations and software development principles.
  • Workday Integration Certification an asset.
  • Certification in project management such as scrum or agile an asset.
  • Independent self-motivated and responsible.
  • Service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal problem solving trouble-shooting and analytical skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours on rare occasion (evenings and weekends).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate technical and non-technical issues to clients service providers and other groups as well as to keep management apprised of the status of all activities and assignments.
  • Bilingual English and French an asset.
