The opportunity:
To lead and develop a high-performing system design team at Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited Chennai fostering technical excellence process discipline and a culture of continuous improvement. The Engineering Manager I will drive competency development ensure the highest quality standards in deliverables and expand the teams execution capabilities across multiple technologies. By promoting collaboration structured communication and strategic vision this role empowers the team to deliver innovative reliable and efficient solutions for high-value electrical infrastructure projects supporting the organizations growth and operational excellence.
How youll make an impact:
- Team competency development in technical areas and essential business skills.Enhancing process driven culture and ensuring adherence to established processes.
- Establishing highest quality benchmarks for system design deliverables.Scope expansion of execution capability spanning multiple technologies for system design team at INOPC.
- Resource planning for Tenders/ Projects/Development activities.Supporting team to remove operational bottlenecks.
- Cross departmental collaboration with Project Management/ Product Management/ R&D.Performance evaluation/ Feedback Sessions/ Growth Discussions with Team Members.
- Administrative and data reporting assignments as required for business.Support the implementation of strategy for the team as per the direction set by the business.
- Inculcating and promoting continuous improvement mid-set within system design team. Objectively measuring progress and impact of continuous improvement assignments.
- Monitor quality and cost performance indicators and take corrective and preventive measures.Recruitment and competence development of the team as demanded by the business.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.

Your background:
- Masters in electrical engineering with power system as focus area of study. 2 3 years exp in managerial role. Preferably having experience to lead a team of more than 8 engineers.
- Proven track record of guiding engineering teams on high value electrical infrastructure knowledge about fundamentals of electrical power systems.
- Good knowledge in design of VSC based solutions for electrical power grid.Good knowledge related to design and testing of electrical components such transformers reactors capacitors CT VT HV breakers etc.
- Ability to develop a vision and strategize execution for an engineering team. Proven track record of resilience.
- Clarity on fundamentals of Project Management and Product Management/ Finance.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
