The Manager Educational Engagement plays a key role within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education (PVCE) portfolio. The position supports the design and delivery of programs and initiatives that advance UNSWsProgress for All strategy and its priorities aroundEducational Excellence and an outstanding Student Experience.
Working closely with the Lead Educational Engagement the role contributes to the Universitys community outreach strategy and oversees a team that delivers impactful engagement programs and initiatives forUNSWstaff. The position reports to the Lead Educational Engagement and manages three direct reports.
This is a parental leave cover until October 2026 with a start date asap.
Main Responsibilities Summary
Plan and manage Educational Engagement projects and initiatives frominceptionto completion ensuring delivery on time within budget and to scope
Lead the Educational Engagement Team in executing key outreach programs and flagship events such as the annualEducation Festival
Contribute to the development and implementation of new outreach and engagement initiatives that enhance educational excellence and the student experience
Oversee communication and outreach processes ensuring consistency efficiency and compliance with UNSW Branding Guidelines
Build andmaintainproductive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including faculties staff students and suppliers
Manage the review enhancement and maintenance of the portfolios web presence and digital platforms
Oversee the development of central publications promotional materials and digital content for portfolio initiatives
Support portfolio-wide planning promotion and communication strategies in collaboration with the Lead Educational Engagement
Contribute to operational management including team leadership budgeting internal reporting and continuous process improvement
Represent the portfolio with academic and student groups to inform activities that enhance the quality of the student experience
Who You Are
We are looking for someonewhois aligned with UNSWs vision and valuesand comes with:
Demonstratedunderstanding of the Higher Education sector including the environment and challenges associated with promoting learning and teaching activities
Demonstrated experience in effective project and resource management within a complex environment with a solid understanding of the educational project and program life cycle documentation budgeting resource allocation and evaluation
Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service focus and the ability to build andmaintainproductive relationships with staff at all levels including senior stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
Proven ability to lead and support a team through complex programs projects and initiatives effectively managing challenges and resolving conflict whenrequired
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans and strategies across multiple media systems and channels for diverse stakeholder groups
Experience in designing delivering and promoting education and student experience strategies programs and initiatives
Advanced digital literacy withproficiencyacross a range of systems platforms and applications UX and web design knowledge and experience highly desirable.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday business work arrangements are flexibility includes 2 days per week of work from home and 3 days from Kensington have an annual shutdown from the 22nd of December until the 5th of January during which the successful person will be required to take leave; one of the benefits of working at UNSW is that all full time and part time employees get 3 extra days of leave paid over that end of the year break.
