The Opportunity
As an Ed-Lab Tech III you will play a crucial role in setting up and maintaining the SAIT Art Smith Aero Centres aircraft training aids hangar labs and related equipment. Your responsibilities also include managing tool and equipment control as well as overseeing shipping and receiving tasks. The Role
- Ensure tools equipment parts and supplies are available and distributed to students and instructors maintaining inventory levels efficiently.
- Process shipments of goods and parts handling dangerous goods according to guidelines.
- Maintain training aids test equipment shop equipment and hand tools.
- Perform routine maintenance on fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
- Operate and maintain ground support equipment (e.g. tugs forklifts GPUs snow plows vehicles).
- Maintain and set up hangar lab and shop areas.
- Organize hangar operations and perform general maintenance.
- Serve as the primary contact for building contractors.
- Support programs by participating in student orientation trade shows career fairs and industry events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in aviation maintenance with a licensed AME preferred.
- Experience with the following aircraft an asset: Challenger 601 Citation Ultra King Air B200 Cessna 185 and 414 Piper Chieftain Harvard MBB BO105 Bell 206 and Robinson R22 and R44.
- Ability to obtain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driver abstract.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance equipment and tooling including their safe and effective use.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students staff and faculty members.
- Proficiency in computer software and applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Salary range: $64625.60 - $83928.00
Hours Per Week: 40
