Risk Management
- Establish and maintain comprehensive risk management standards policies and procedures ensuring the effective implementation of the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework across the organisation.
- Facilitate enterprise-wide and departmental risk assessments including annual workshops to identify evaluate and assign ownership of key risks while proposing practical mitigation strategies.
- Continuously track key risk indicators identify emerging risks and recommend appropriate actions to maintain alignment with the organisations risk appetite and escalation process.
- Review the internal and external business environment to inform risk rollout plans and evaluate potential risk events that may impact project execution ensuring timely implementation of mitigants for successful outcomes.
- Prepare and deliver timely high-quality risk reports to stakeholders escalate issues as required and drive awareness initiativessuch as newsletters posters and articlesto strengthen risk culture across the organisation.
Internal Control and Audit
- Ensure that internal audit strategies standard operating procedures policies and manuals are effectively implemented and periodically updated as required.
- Develop and implement risk-based internal audit programmes in collaboration with Department Heads to assess compliance with Axxelas approved policies laws regulations and codes of good business practice. This includes developing test plans selecting audit approaches and executing audits efficiently through planning testing evaluation reporting and verification of issue closure.
- Propose practical value-adding recommendations to address control weaknesses and process inefficiencies identified during internal audits while promoting transparency and accountability across operations.
- Lead year-end inventory counts fixed asset verification exercises and special investigations into breaches of the companys code of business conduct or suspected fraud as requested by the GCEO or the Board.
- Collaborate with external auditors conduct follow-up reviews on internal and external audit findings monitor implementation of corrective actions and update management and the Board on progress and key risk issues.
Business Continuity Management
- Assess and Mitigate Organisational Risks: Perform in-depth evaluations of key risks across the organisation and support the development of prevention strategies and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience.
- Develop Test and Update Continuity Frameworks: Collaborate with departments to design test and regularly update business continuity and disaster recovery plans incorporating lessons from exercises operational changes and staff or system updates.
- Enhance Organisational Preparedness: Coordinate and facilitate training awareness programs and simulation exercises to strengthen response and recovery capabilities across all business functions.
- Strengthen Crisis Communication and Response: Establish and maintain effective communication procedures to ensure timely information flow before during and after disruptions while providing guidance and on-ground support to stakeholders throughout crises.
- Monitor Report and Recommend Improvements: Track emerging trends technologies and regulatory changes related to business continuity; support response and recovery efforts during disruptions; and prepare reports and recommendations for senior management on the organisations continuity program.
- 1st degree in Accounting Finance Economics or any other related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in relevant function
- Additional Qualifications such as ACA/ACCA CIA CISA and Masters degree is an added advantage
