Job Summary

Description

The Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF) established in 2014 facilitates collaboration among INGOs in Nigeria for humanitarian development and peacebuilding efforts. The Finance & Grants Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the NIF Secretariat by ensuring sound financial management compliance with donor requirements and effective grants administration.

This position contributes to strategic resource planning donor engagement and reporting processes that underpin NIFs coordination mandate.

The role involves managing budgets monitoring cash flow preparing donor financial reports overseeing grants compliance and supporting proposal development. The Coordinator also ensures timely and accurate financial documentation maintains internal control systems and collaborates with program and operations teams to align financial processes with organizational goals.



Responsibilities

Generic ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with NRC/NIF financial policies donor regulations and audit accurate financial records and documentation and submit timely financial reports and grants management processes and donor budgets and cash flow for NIF to proposal development and donor ethical standards and NIF positively in donor and partner engagements.Specific ResponsibilitiesFinancial ManagementPrepare donor budgets and ensure inclusion of support Budget vs Actual (BvA) analysis payments staff advances and claims in line with NRC internal control systems for accurate postings and financial documents in O365 per NRC guidelines.Grants AdministrationDevelop and maintain an overview of all grants donor requirements and proposals for compliance with NRC and donor organized program files including donor contracts and donor compliance for NIF grants and project cycle management.Reporting & CompliancePrepare high-quality donor financial reports and ensure timely training on anti-corruption policy and financial systems (Agresso).Track and report on regulatory and donor compliance developments.Coordination & SupportWork closely with NIF program and operations teams NRC Grants and Finance finance in bid committees and strategic planning sessions.



Qualifications

Generic Professional Competencies

  • Education: BSc in Accounting Finance or Business Administration.
  • Experience: 35 years in financial and grants management within humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong understanding of donor rules and regulations.
  • Skills in proposal and report writing financial analysis and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems (Agresso preferred).
  • Excellent English communication skills.

Context/Specific Skills

  • Experience with humanitarian and development donors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.

Duration: 12 months (renewable)
Grade Level: NRC Grade 7
Reporting Line: NIF Director
Travel: Up to 30%
