Job Summary

About the role:

The case worker - Specialist Homelessness Services will engage and support young people and their families experiencing non-chronic and nonentrenched issues including alcohol and/or other drug use health mental health relationship safety education culture and social justice issues provide early intervention services including advice and support group work and case management to address issues; assist young people to remain connected to family education and community; and reduce the likelihood of contact with the child protection out of home care specialist youth homelessness services or juvenile justice systems.

This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in Blacktown VIC within our Specialist Homelessness Service. The position reports to the SHS Team Leader.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role The incumbent will have:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families
  • Demonstrated experience in working with young people aged 12 17 years and their families
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in assessing client needs developing case plans and providing client-focused casework
  • Demonstrated group work experience;
