Whats the role
Our team of polyglot engineers creates exceptional experiences for software engineers across Westpac. You will contribute to building and enhancing platform features that empower developers to easily build deploy and run future-ready applications. This includes improving CI/CD pipelines expanding platform capabilities and developing our flagship Mesh Connect Marketplace and command-line tools. As a Senior Engineer you will help shape the technical direction of our products while mentoring junior developers to strengthen the teams overall capability.
You will focus on building robust solutions improving build processes tooling and libraries to elevate developer productivity and experience. Additionally youll foster strong team dynamics promote clear communication across teams remove impediments and collaborate to cultivate a vibrant and supportive technical community.
What do I need
- A polyglot programmer with at least 5-10 years of experience.
- Expert python knowledge and experience with java and nodejs also desirable.
- Strong SOA microservices and containerisation (Kubernetes / Docker / OpenShift) experience.
- Experience in automation of development processes.
- A strong understanding and experience with public cloud ideally Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience integrating corporate systems to SaaS based platforms such as Confluent Kafka MongoDB etc is preferred.
- Experience with agile methodology and practises.
- Ideally youll be part of the wider technical community through things like MeetUps having a side-project or as an open-source contributor.
