The role would see you working through the full development lifecycle from initial requirements gathering to developing your software solution and testing your work on a vehicle at one of our purpose-built automotive proving grounds. Here at Bosch Australias Chassis Systems Control team we are dedicated to developing hardware and software solutions to improve vehicle safety. We work on global development projects engineering solutions for customers in Australia and Worldwide. This permanent full-time role will be based at our Head Office in Clayton Victoria. Additionally there may be opportunity to travel to some of Boschs amazing locations including our incredible Anglesea testing ground domestically and abroad.
What you will be doing:
- Developing embedded software and systems for state-of-the-art vehicle dynamics functions such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP) Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) Traction Control System (TCS) Integrated Power Brake (IPB) and other chassis control related functions.
- Collaborating with local and international customers to elicit requirements and assess the target vehicle performance.
- Ensuring your developments meet agreed customer requirements through sound analysis design coding and validation of the system on the target vehicle.
- Validating developed software in vehicle where necessary including limit driving tests at local proving grounds and occasional overseas test trips where necessary.
- Supporting the successful release process of your software projects into production and assist the cross functional team to achieve the project goals.
Qualifications :
We are looking for a conscientious professional with the ability to work globally manage diverse topics and priorities and establish effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
To be considered for this position you are required to meet the following criteria:
- Engineering degree that is recognised in Australia (Mechatronics Electrical Mechanical Software or equivalent is essential)
- Significant experience with the design and development of embedded control software (including C C embedded C or equivalent)
- Process driven and highly motivated to understand and adhere to the Bosch engineering process.
- Solid working knowledge of vehicle systems (e.g.: brakes suspension power-trains) and vehicle dynamics.
- Experience in test and production design preferably in an automotive environment.
- Possess strong working knowledge of embedded C including software component development across multiple architectural layers (e.g. ASCET Eclipse IDE IBM Lifecycle Management)
- Comprehensive knowledge of the traditional software development lifecycle (V-Model) and Requirement Engineering process.
- Experience with software verification and validation.
- Understanding of software version control and have experience in using SVC tools.
- Understanding of the importance of software and software limitations imposed by the hardware it controls.
- A keen interest in how software can be used to intelligently control hardware devices
- Understanding of automotive communication protocols in particular CAN.
- Demonstrated ability to debug embedded hardware and software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Exhibit passion for pro-activeness accountability excellence and be self-driven.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Desirable:
- A deep understanding of chassis kinematics and vehicle dynamics.
- Automotive related development experience.
- Having worked in multi-national teams and across multiple customers or OEMs.
- Experience with development tool-chains (i.e. ALM DOORs Jira OneQ Vector tools etc).
- Successful completion of at least one major project into production.
- Experience with software modelling packages (i.e. Simulink) and scripting languages (i.e. Python).
- Experience with ASPICE or similar quality standard.
