Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the financial advisor to the Superintendent and the Board of Trustees. The CFO also supervises the Business Office team which is responsible for the districts day-to-day business operations.
Key responsibilities of the CFO
Financial Advisement: Serves as the primary financial advisor for the Superintendent and the Board of Trustees guiding them on financial issues and the use of district resources.
Business Operations Oversight: Supervises the business office functions. These include:
o Accounting
o Budget management and finance
o Payroll
o Purchasing
o Risk management
Bond Initiatives: Coordinates bond elections bond sales and investment strategies.
Legislative Updates: Conducts legislative research and provides updates to the Board of Trustees regarding school finance.
Reporting: Keeps the superintendent informed on all financial issues.
Policy Recommendations: Recommends changes in policy and practice to optimize the use of district resources.
Compliance: Directs district activities to ensure compliance with laws policies and regulations
