Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a dynamic and specialized 8-bed unit dedicated to the comprehensive treatment and management of a diverse range of trauma-related injuries. Our highly skilled and compassionate staff is committed to delivering superior patient-centered care to every individual entrusted to our expertise. We prioritize a collaborative approach featuring a dedicated team of experienced Trauma Surgeons who work in close partnership with our exceptional nursing staff. This integrated model ensures seamless communication timely interventions the highest possible compassionate and quality care ultimately contributing to optimal patient outcomes and a supportive healing environment.
Position Summary:
The incumbent provides coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally.
This position shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy San Juan Medical Center and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.
Job Requirements
Minimum:
- 1 year RN experience in critical care at an acute care hospital
- Current California RN License
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current AHA PALS or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Current Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) certification or obtained within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Trauma Experience preferred
