An established and highly regarded law firm in West Hartford CT is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join their growing team. The firm has a strong reputation in the area and a staff of 15 professionals. While the firm practices in several areas of law this position will focus exclusively on supporting their expanding bankruptcy practice.
The Bankruptcy Paralegal will play a key role in assisting attorneys with case management document preparation client communication and filing procedures for both consumer and business bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on experience working within bankruptcy law and a solid understanding of related court filings and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare review and file bankruptcy petitions schedules statements and related documents (Chapters 7 11 and/or 13)
- Draft correspondence pleadings and motions for attorney review
- Manage case calendars deadlines and filings through CM/ECF and PACER
- Conduct client intake and maintain communication throughout the case process
- Organize and manage case files and supporting documentation
- Assist attorneys during hearings meetings and case updates
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and other paralegals across practice areas
Requirements
- Minimum of 23 years of experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal
- Strong understanding of bankruptcy procedures forms and court systems
- Proficiency with CM/ECF PACER and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
