Our client is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to become a vital member of our dynamic financial and lending practice team. This role offers the unique chance to gain hands-on experience across a diverse and sophisticated workload including complex corporate real estate and restructuring matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the drafting review and negotiation of documentation for sophisticated secured lending and commercial loans.

  • Develop and implement restructuring strategies forbearance agreements and distressed asset management solutions for clients.

  • Provide robust representation in bankruptcy filings and advocate on behalf of creditors in negotiations and plan confirmations.

  • Conduct critical due diligence and transactional support for corporate acquisitions real estate deals and various lending arrangements.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with senior attorneys in a flexible hybrid work environment.

  • Act as a mentor to junior attorneys contributing to the firms knowledge-sharing and development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Active Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required; New York Bar admission is strongly preferred.

  • Approximately 4 years of substantive experience in at least two of the following areas: bankruptcy banking/finance real estate or corporate law.

  • Proven expertise in loan documentation workouts restructuring agreements and creditor representation.

  • Excellent contract drafting document review and advanced legal research capabilities.

  • Superior organizational communication and time-management abilities essential for handling multiple complex engagements.

  • Proficiency with legal technology tools (e.g. DocuSign iManage or equivalent).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience representing lenders or financial institutions in secured financing transactions.

  • Strong understanding of UCC regulations and lender liability considerations.

  • Familiarity with complex bankruptcy proceedings and asset restructurings.

  • Experience with real estate financing leasing or acquisition transactions.

  • Knowledge of corporate governance M&A and related transactional support.
