Job Summary

He aha te tūranga - About the role:   

Manaaki Mamao is a proactive telehealth service designed around Māori and Pacific people to help manage their hypertension (high blood pressure) from the comfort of home over a six month period. This is a free service with the longer-term goal of improving health equity starting with hypertension.

Our Telehealth Clinical Advisor is responsible for:

  • Attending scheduled appointments in patients homes to install/set up the telehealth equipment.
  • Support the onboarding of new patients from a clinical perspective including creating care plans for the specific needs of the patient.
  • Respond to new patients questions or concerns using accurate and clinically sound information.

This is a permanent part-time position working 8 hours/week. Ideally this will be completed on one day the same day each week however we can be flexible on this. Please advise in the message to hiring team what your preference would be on how your week would look.


Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a registered nurse or hold EMT/Paramedic ATP.
  • Have the ability to connect with patients in an authentic way ensuring open and honest dialogue in each interaction.
  • Be familiar with Te Ao Māori (Māori world views values and concepts): Hauora Māori (Māori health and models) Reo Māori (Māori language) Tikanga Māori (Māori customary practices) Mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge).

You will be required to travel to patients homes and will use either an available pool car or your own vehicle with mileage claimed. Currently the majority of our clients are in the South Auckland area however this is expanding.
