Health Information Officer

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated detail-oriented Health Information Officer to join our team on a casual basis. Reporting to the Health Information Manager you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and timely medical records.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile medical records for discharged patients.
• Retrieve and prepare records for admissions inpatients quality audits and clinical needs.
• Respond to internal and external information requests in line with privacy policies.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times.
• Follow up on outstanding documentation (e.g. discharge summaries pathology reports).
• Monitor and maintain clinical forms registers and archives.
• Scan and file documentation efficiently.
• Assist with documentation audits and quality improvement initiatives.

About You
You are an organised proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You value accuracy and confidentiality enjoy working collaboratively and understand the importance of well-managed health records in supporting excellent patient care.

Essential Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable

• Experience in medical records or healthcare clerical roles.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.
• High-level computer literacy and confidence with digital records systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
