Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (Correctional Facility)
Location: New York NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Mid Shift 5x8-Hour (2:00 PM 10:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $2606 Weekly Gross ($65.15/hour)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care in a correctional facility setting. This role involves delivering quality healthcare services to an inmate population while maintaining safety professionalism and adherence to established medical and correctional standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working in fast-paced environments strong assessment skills and the ability to respond effectively to both routine and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patient assessments triage sick calls and respond to medical emergencies.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to established protocols.
Provide care for patients with acute and chronic health conditions.
Document all assessments interventions and outcomes in compliance with facility and healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with physicians mental health professionals and security staff to ensure coordinated and safe patient care.
Educate patients on medication compliance disease prevention and health maintenance.
Maintain infection control and safety standards within the facility.
Support daily operations of the medical unit including inventory management and reporting.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active RN License (New York State current and unrestricted).
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (correctional emergency or acute care preferred).
BLS Certification (AHA).
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and diverse patient populations.
Preferred:
Previous experience working in correctional or forensic healthcare settings.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
