Description of Work

Salary Range- $31200-$49340

This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury N.C. (Rowan County) which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates.

Employees in this class handle the initial interviewing and processing of those persons entering the prison system. Employees are located at a Diagnostic Center in the prison facility where the inmates are processed. Work primarily involves gathering socioeconomic information education substance abuse history explaining terms of the sentence and providing general orientation to prison processes and procedures. Work also includes recording data and maintaining all inmate records. Position will report to the Correctional Senior Case Analyst.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Management Preferences:

Basic knowledge of the techniques of interviewing.
Documented one year of correctional/ human services experience.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

If selected for this position a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience funding availability and internal equity. Based upon these factors a pay increase MAY result.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of correctional or human services experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
