The Purpose:
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team in Chicago! In this role youll play a key part in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time each week supporting a smooth and compliant payroll operation across the company. Youll be responsible for administering Czarnowskis payroll processes from start to finish maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations and providing exceptional service to our employees.
You will collaborate closely with other Payroll Administrators and Czarnowski HR Managers nationwide. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced team-oriented environment where attention to detail collaboration and a proactive mindset are valued and recognized.
The Job:
- Support the payroll team to ensure all weekly payroll transactions are processed accurately timely and in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state payroll regulations including the Department of Labor FLSA IRS Social Security and state wage and hour laws.
- Prepare payroll-related reports summaries and statistical data as needed.
- Process weekly payroll including importing time and attendance data from UKG Ready (time and attendance system) into UKG Pro (payroll system).
- Handle off-cycle and manual check processing when required.
- Respond to and manage unemployment claims in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review employee benefit enrollment deductions and terminations ensuring system data integrity.
- Address employee payroll inquiries providing clear and timely resolutions
The Person:
- Bachelors degree in accounting human resources or related field.
- 2 years of direct payroll administration experience.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and benefit regulations (FMLA and ACA).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail organization and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently take initiative set priorities and see projects through to completion.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work occasional weekends when needed.
- Experience with UKG Pro/UKG Ready is preferred but not required.
- Experience processing Union Payroll is strongly preferred but not required.
Illinois Salary and Benefit Statement:
The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Illinois if selected for the role. Any salary offered is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data/ranges applicants skills and prior relevant experience.
Illinois Salary Range: $60000-$70000
This position is eligible for health care benefits life insurance time off benefits and participation in the Companys 401(k) plan.
