Position Title : Senior Manager IT Financial Management (ITFM) and Financial Operations (FinOps)
The Senior Manager IT Financial Management (ITFM)/FinOps plays a critical role in managing and optimizing financial operations enabling IT financial transparency and planning across the IT organization. This position involves comprehensive analysis of technology spending development and implementation of cost management strategies and collaboration with various departments to align financial practices with business goals. Additionally the role includes ensuring compliance with financial policies and governance frameworks to control optimize and reduce expenditures.
The role requires:
- Experience in technology cost management topics such as Technology Cost optimization Technology Business management IT Budget forecasting IT Chargeback Cloud Economics Cloud Financial Management IT Value realization
- Advanced presentation skills and ability to drive senior leadership level discussions
- Ability to manage budgeting and forecasting activities and build various reports
- Advanced number crunching on Excel or dashboards / reports on Power BI
- Creating expert content and taking part in professional forums
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Financial Management and Planning
- Define the ITFM vision roadmap and governance/operating model.
- Conduct maturity assessments and drive continuous improvement of ITFM capabilities.
- Collaborate with Finance Procurement and Business Unit leaders to ensure transparency of technology spending.
- Define implement and operate IT financial planning and execution processes including:
- Cost Management: Monitor analyze and optimize spending across various platforms. Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve financial efficiency.
- FinOps Implementation: Lead the introduction and integration of FinOps capabilities to improve the management and optimization of technology spend within the cloud environment. Continue to mature and institutionalize FinOps Process & Policies
- IT Financial Transparency (Showback / Chargeback)
- Develop dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility of IT spend consumption and accountability at various Layers (Infra Apps Services etc.)
- Establish Showback and Chargeback frameworks to allocate IT costs fairly and transparently to consuming services/products and business units
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present monthly quarterly and annual financial reports including key performance indicators (KPIs) and trend analyses. Conduct detailed variance analysis to explain deviations from budget and forecast providing actionable recommendations for cost management.
- ITFM Capability Setup
- Design implementation and administration of the ITFM capabilities including tooling.
- Lead automation analytics and dashboarding for financial and operational insights.
- Ensure data integration and accuracy from source systems like ERP Configuration Management Database (CMDB) HR Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) and cloud platforms.
- Policy and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to financial policies procedures and compliance requirements related to expenditures. Develop and enforce governance policies to control costs effectively and ensure adherence to organizational financial guidelines. Lead regular audits and compliance checks to ensure all expenditures are justified and align with company policies.
Required Skills and experience:
- MBA (preferred)
- 510 years of experience in IT Financial Management or Technology Costing roles.
- 2 years of experience leading or managing large teams effectively including planning/structuring analytical work facilitating team workshops and developing recommendations
- Advanced presentation public speaking skills and ability to drive C-suite/senior leadership level discussions
- Strong understanding of IT Cost base Technical Business Management (TBM) /ITFM taxonomy cost allocation logic and IT service costing principles.
- Ability to interpret complex financial and operational data & communicate insights clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
- Advanced number crunching on Excel or dashboards / reports on Power BI
