Position Summary

The Commercial Market Manager in National Accounts leads a Commercial team that is responsible for coast-to-coast sales with large strategic Commercial diesel end users across multiple industries such as Truck stops Railroads Transportation Utility Mining and Marine customers along with responsibilities for developing and driving MPCs motor oil and lubricant strategy. The position provides exposure to the entire MPC light products system and should be viewed as a growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual. The successful candidate should have strong critical thinking and communication skills drive for results and a service-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the National Accounts Commercial Diesel team by collaborating with the Regions to set and execute product placement strategies while building a collaborative customer focused culture.

  • Responsible for a large and diversified customer base that operates in complex markets through multiple channels of trade.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with National Accounts customers.

  • Supports team in maintaining customer satisfaction through advising and assisting with customer issues and handling difficult situations issues or conversations.

  • Interacts with Pricing Trading Supply Regional Commercial Market Managers and Directors and Logistics organizations to determine and execute profitable near and long-term sales strategy and price position targets. Provides strategic direction for direct reports in line with National Accounts and Region objectives.

  • Assesses new product offerings and new market expansion opportunities. Assists direct reports with prospecting efforts including prioritization and resource allocation.

  • Leads direct reports in developing Wholesale contract and bid packages that are aligned with organization growth objectives. Reviews all proposals and associated contract analysis to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Grants approval of contract proposals within level of authority and seeks higher approval as needed. Serves as primary liaison to legal in the development and review of all contracts prior to execution.

  • Reviews customer sales volume margins terminal pricing and market conditions and delivers recommendations to Management; implements change as needed.

  • Recommends new products programs strategies and innovation management to improve sales and profitability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Six (6) years of industry or similar experience with commercial supply or trading background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics including key pricing drivers and trends that influence commercial decision-making.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain ownership of external customer relationships driving satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
