Job Overview
The Component Test Engineering team is looking for a technician with experience in electrical mechanical/structural and thermal testing. This role will provide hands-on support to various in-house and external tests. This is a 1 year contract position with possibility of conversion to a full-time role. This role requires on-site attendance 5 days a week between 8 am and 5 pm.
Responsibilities
The Component Test Engineering team is looking for a technician with experience in electrical mechanical/structural and thermal testing. This role will provide hands-on support to various in-house and external tests. This is a 1 year contract position with possibility of conversion to a full-time role. This role requires on-site attendance 5 days a week between 8 am and 5 pm.
Responsibilities
- Assist the engineering staff with test setups execution and teardown
- Occasionally travel to external test facilities to set up and/or execute tests
- Fabricate test fixtures make wiring harnesses and support other lab activities
- Operate a forklift (training will be provided if needed)
- Maintaining lab inventory for consumables
- Maintaining a clean lab environment
Required Skills
- High-voltage electrical testing experience
- Operating bi-directional power supplies and electrical loads
- Building special wiring harnesses from scratch; including soldering crimping etc.
- Building test-stands and test-fixtures
Desired Skills
- Experience with environmental thermal and structural testing
- Operating and troubleshooting environmental chambers
- Machine shop experience - welding machining etc.
- Automotive experience
Pay Range: $30/hr - $35/hr based on experience; overtime available.
