The American Heart Association has an opportunity for atemporary part-time position as a Development Coordinator on our School Engagement Team helping cover a staff members leave of absence.
This position will report to the VP of School Engagement.This is a part-time position with extensive travel in the field conducting program kick-off events at school assemblies. The end date for the position is March 20th 2026.
- Five hours per day five days per week - morning hours ideal but flexibility is crucial.
- Non-exempt hourly position with a 25-hour work week - early morning hours preferred.
This position is responsible for helping to support our School Engagement Team through administrative duties such as data entry & working with excel spreadsheets online ordering helping to facilitate material orders scheduling various meetings and working with our local print site on the production of collateral materials.

Responsibilities
- Attend school assemblies to conduct kick-off events.
- Generate excitement and present information about the Kids Heart Challenge.
- Follow-up with schools after kick-offs as needed.
- 35 to 50 assemblies anticipated.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma and at least three years experience in administrative work project coordination and/or event management systems with strong attention to detail.
- Must have intermediate skills in PowerPoint Word and Excel. Advanced knowledge and skill with these programs is preferred. These skills are subject to testing.
- Experience in event planning organizing consultation and event management preferred. Proficient in using web conferencing software (Zoom Microsoft Teams etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to objectively evaluate make effective decisions and develop alternative solutions.
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff volunteers and the public. This includes ability and willingness to build and cultivate relationships within and outside the American Heart Association.
- A willingness to work in an atmosphere requires flexibility and change. Validated ability to respond quickly to changing ideas responsibilities expectations strategies and other processes at work.
- Must pass background check and must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to do daily local travel in territory on a daily basis; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
- Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary minimum to the midpoint of the range is $21.90 to $25.00/hr. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
