What youll do

Within Software Asset Management (SAM) we manage strategic software vendors and set processes to optimize costs and ensure compliance across Volvo Car Group. We are seeking a Software Asset Management Operations Lead to join our global Sourcing and Software Asset Management team based at the India Tech Hub. This unit oversees operations digitalization and automation of sourcing vendor management and SAM processes and data to maximize value from our IT and software vendors.

Main responsibilities

• Serve as the Service Manager for contracts relating to outsourced SAM services (including tools and data) overseeing:
  • SLA/KPI monitoring and follow-up
  • Data quality assurance
  • Leadership of service transition projects
  • Transformation initiatives for service delivery and toolsets

• Manage relationships and contractual agreements with our Large Account Reseller
• Define requirements for reporting and automation
• Develop implement and refine processes and policies as needed
• Lead internal audits and performance reviews
• Lead and develop services pertaining selected software portfolios as applicable

What youll bring

We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in SAM encompassing related tools data processes and service management. This role offers the opportunity to further develop and enhance the SAM function within Volvo Cars.

You come with a relevant degree from a recognized university or institution.

The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive knowledge of SAM with substantial hands-on operational experience involving toolchains and data models - ideally acquired in large complex enterprise environments. A thorough understanding of various licensing and contract models for major software portfolios is required.

Applicants should demonstrate a proactive work ethic combined with strategic vision balancing independent initiatives with effective team collaboration among global teams and key stakeholders. Strong analytical and solution-oriented skills are essential. You should be able to drive and promote efficient utilization and re-deployment of software licenses across the organization optimized usage bringing maximum value.

You have the ability to communicate at ease with stakeholders at various levels in the organization utilizing various analytical tools to convey relevant message/information.

Additional qualifications considered advantageous include:

• Experience managing outsourced services and vendor relationships
• Familiarity with implementing and working with ITAM and FinOps principles and frameworks
