Job Summary
Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for directly supervising supporting organizing evaluating and directing thework of three Financial Services Supervisors who manage the primary financial functions of the City;including income tax administration payroll disbursements and financialanalysis. Carries out upper-level management supervisory and professional responsibilities inaccordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiringtraining and coaching employees. Planning assigning directing reviewing and evaluating work product andoutcomes. Appraising employee and team performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressingcomplaints and resolving problems. Must maintain a thorough knowledge of administrative policies and procedures standardoperating guidelines/procedures and a comprehensive understanding of current public finance standardsrules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting Public Administration Finance Business Administration Economics or aclosely related field AND seven years of progressively more responsible professional-level work in financeaccounting collections or a closely related field preferably in a governmental agency AND five years ofsupervisory experience and project management experience.
OR
Masters Degree in Accounting Public Administration Finance Business Administration Economics or a closelyrelated field AND five years of progressively more responsible professional-level work in finance accountingcollections customer service or a closely related field preferably in a governmental agency.
A CPA is preferred and may be substituted for five years of the experience listed above as long as the candidatehas two years of supervisory experience.
Current certification from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) or the Association ofGovernmental Accountants (AGA) is preferred and may be substituted for one year of the experience listedabove as long as the candidate has one year of supervisory or project management experience.
License Requirements
Must possess a valid drivers license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

Background Check
A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position including current city employees seeking transfer promotion demotion etc. into a classified position.

Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen.
