Dietician

Seven Hills Hospital is a leading provider for acute inpatient and outpatient services for Southern Nevada.

Located in Henderson Nevada Seven Hills Hospital combine to provide services for behavioral health chemical dependency and eating disorders for both adults geriatrics and adolescents (ages 5-17). The continuum of care consists of a 134-bed psychiatric hospital and an extensive array of outpatient services that include a partial hospitalization program (PHP) an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and traditional outpatient services for adults and adolescents. Henderson is one of the fastest growing cities in the US and is located just 7 miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip and a couple of miles from beautiful Lake Mead.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides nutrition counseling to patients and oversees the nutritional aspects of patient care.
  • Completes nutrition assessment within 24 hours of admission on assigned patients.
  • Establishes appropriate meal plans and weight goals based on individual patient needs.
  • Documents patient sessions in the medical record.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients including rapport therapeutic boundaries and a working alliance towards treatment goals.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans to facilitate patients progress.
  • Develops treatment plans based on patients identified problems and needs.
  • Updates treatment plans weekly with measurable objectives nutrition-related assignments discharge planning and notation of patient progress.
  • Re-assesses nutritional needs on an ongoing basis and presents recommendations to the treatment team at weekly treatment team meetings.
  • Contacts referring dietitian upon admission to determine preferred method for updates and communicates this information to the treatment team
  • Demonstrates the ability to build rapport with families provides education regarding eating disorders and how to provide nutritional support to the loved one.
  • Completes the discharge plan.
  • Facilitates nutrition groups.
  • Participates in exposure outings and restaurant outings.
  • Develops revises and implements modules for group nutrition therapy.
  • Provides support to patients during meal therapy including assisting patients in setting meal goals redirecting rituals or inappropriate behavior.
  • Facilitates post meal processing including assisting patients in processing struggles identifying risks for ED behaviors and assisting patients in identifying alternative coping strategies.
  • Communicates patients meal plan food allergies and any other special nutrition instructions clearly to all staff

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree from an accredited University in Dietetics Nutrition or similar field acceptable for licensure.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Licensed as a Dietician in the state of Nevada in Good Standing

EXPERIENCE

Minimum One (1) year experience working as a dietician in eating disorders preferably in an acute hospital setting residential setting or partial hospitalization program setting.
