Westford World Language Department Core Beliefs- We believe that all students can and should learn another language.
- We believe that students learn best when they are exposed to and actively use the target language at least 90% of the time in the classroom.
- We believe that exposure to a variety of languages allows students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of other cultures as well as their own.
- We believe that learning another language prepares students to communicate and participate successfully as informed citizens in a global society.
Position Responsibilities:- Teach 3 classes of German 3 and 2 classes of German 4
- Candidates should have advanced oral proficiency in German
- Candidates should have a solid understanding of the ACTFL Standards and the 2021 MA World Language Frameworks
- Create a proficiency based classroom learning environment that is engaging student-centered and safe and welcoming
- Incorporate authentic materials and target all four modes of communication
- Assess the progress of students towards proficiency goals using a variety of assessment types including performance-based assessments
- Partner and communicate with families and specific staff members to best meet the needs of each individual student
- Work effectively and collaboratively with students and colleagues
- Valid Massachusetts DESE teaching licensure Foreign Language German Grades 5-12 required
