Position Summary
AES is seeking an early-career Project Manager to support the delivery of multi-million-dollar transmission and distribution (T&D) projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates from Masters programs or candidates with strong Construction Management or Engineering backgrounds who are eager to develop project management expertise under the guidance of senior PMs. You will assist in managing scope schedule and budget for assigned projects while learning AES project management standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support: Assist senior PMs in planning and executing T&D construction projects ensuring alignment with scope schedule and budget.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain project schedules cost forecasts and progress reports for internal stakeholders and PMO reporting.
Stakeholder Coordination: Support communication across internal teams (engineering supply chain construction management) and external contractors.
Procurement Assistance: Help develop scopes of work review bids and track material and equipment procurement.
Risk & Issue Tracking: Monitor project risks and issues escalating to senior PMs as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in lessons learned and process improvement initiatives.
Education
Required: Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field.
Preferred: Masters degree in Engineering Construction Management or Business.
Experience
03 years of relevant experience (internships co-ops or entry-level roles in construction or utilities preferred).
Familiarity with project management principles (PMI or CAPM certification a plus).
Exposure to electric utility or large-scale infrastructure projects is desirable.
Skills
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with scheduling tools (Oracle P6) and ERP systems (SAP) is a plus.
