HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australias eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australias largest energy infrastructure projects with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works worth $1.4bn includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

Primary purpose of the position:

To contribute to the effectiveness of the project team by providing effective efficient and administrative cost support and oversee and administer document management and ensure project cost control requirements are met.

Position Key Accountabilities

  • Promoting the use of cost management systems; supporting Rover administration by internal users (Engineers Supervisors) and external users (Subcontractors).
  • Rover onboarding for subcontractors; setting up resources and rates in Rover ensuring information is up to date and supporting subcontractors in implementing Rover.
  • Provide systems training to new members of the team as necessary.
  • Supporting the team in developing progress reports (internal and external) & EV reporting.
  • Support and assist in reconciliation of subcontractor claims and material orders.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements (focusing on efficiency standardisation and eliminating duplication).
  • Regularly checking and auditing project cost systems ensuring information is up to date and in alignment.
  • Maintain productive relationships with project team.
  • Develop and encourage all employees to work effectively with project systems to ensure use of its maximum potential.
  • Maintaining an effective filing/archiving system (online and hardcopy) to ensure records and documents are suitably protected from damage and are readily available.
  • Liaise with team members to ensure all costs are processed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with finance timetable.
  • Preparation of date for End of Month requirements.
  • Supporting the team in developing the End of Month Forecast.
  • Ensuring systems are up to date and accurate.
  • Proactively identify and analyse risks and opportunities within the Project.
  • Manage budget transfers and project contingency movement for reporting
  • Registering and overseeing incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation.
  • Preparing relevant documentation including assisting with the formatting/typing of correspondence submissions and presentations.
  • Actively promote the HumeLink Guiding Principles and create a workplace culture that reflects these principles.

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • A Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Finance and Accounting;

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience;

  • Preferably with Rover application experience;

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

Where applicable evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
