Position Overview
As a Learning Support Officer (LSO) you will play a vital role in supporting students and assisting teachers to deliver effective inclusive learning experiences. You will provide targeted support to students with diverse learning needs working closely with teachers families and specialist staff to ensure every student can access the curriculum and thrive.
Location: St Catherine Campus (may occasionally be required to work at St Clare campus at the discretion of the Principal)
Tenure: Part-time ongoing
Classification: Education Support Officer Category B Level 2
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualised support to students with diverse academic physical behavioural or social-emotional needs.
Support teachers in implementing adjustments and accommodations outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Assist students to access classroom learning and participate meaningfully in school activities.
Reinforce teaching and learning activities through small-group or one-on-one instruction.
Support literacy numeracy and other intervention programs.
Prepare or adapt learning materials and resources under teacher guidance.
Observe and record student progress engagement and behaviour to inform planning.
Maintain accurate NCCD documentation and electronic student records.
Assist with classroom organisation transitions and behaviour management strategies.
Support students during school activities and assessments as required.
Provide general administrative support including scanning filing and preparing meeting notes.
