Job Summary

  • Based across our Geelong Waterfront Campus hybrid working arrangements
  • Full time and fixed-term until 31 December 2026
  • HEW 7 $101858 - $% Superannuation (pro rata part time)

The Project Coordinator will drive improvements to the Universitys approach to supporting Students with Disability and for staff working with Students with Disability. The role provides project management of key strategic projects aimed at enabling and embedding inclusive practices to support students with disabilities. The role will work collaboratively across faculties divisions and stakeholder groups to ensure alignment with Deakins strategic priorities and to drive sustainable inclusive change at scale.

As a Project Coordinator you will:

  • Plan and oversee projects/activities to deliver sustainable outcomes and value within constraints of time cost and quality. Understand and integrate perspectives held within different areas of the University and put plans in place to build collaboration mutually beneficial ethical alliances and develop common goals.
  • Facilitate collaboration between academic and professional staff student advisory groups and external partners to co-design and implement inclusive practices.
  • Interpret needs via a range of sources including data sector trends and student/staff voice. Offer pragmatic inclusive and sustainable solutions based on evidence and in alignment with University context.
  • Communicate effectively by using an understanding of disability in higher education modified for relevant stakeholders (including students).
  • Use evidence to develop and establish sustainable improvement and recommendations consistent and compliant with the Universitys legislative obligations
  • Ensure effective project governance reporting and compliance with university policies and external funding requirements.

To be successful youll have:

  • A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and/or clients from business government or community sectors and students
  • Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the cultural context appropriate to a variety of circumstances.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating large-scale university-wide projects involving multiple streams and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Proven ability to drive cultural and operational change in a higher education context.
  • Experience integrating projects with broader institutional transformation initiatives (e.g. curriculum transformation).
  • An understanding of current disability legislation and associated groups including ADCET ATEND Higher Education Institutions (desirable).
