Job Summary
Role: Data Engineer – MS SQL
Location: Bengaluru India
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later).
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL SSIS and job scheduling/automation.
- Experience with performance tuning indexing strategies and query optimisation.
- Familiarity with data warehousing ETL best practices and data quality frameworks.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages is a plus.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow structured processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain ETL workflows using SSIS and T-SQL stored procedures.
- Monitor and support MS SQL Server environments ensuring availability performance and data integrity.
- Proactively monitor scheduled SQL and SSIS jobs to ensure successful completion.
- Troubleshoot and optimize slow-running queries ETL packages and database performance issues.
- Implement and maintain data pipelines to move and transform data between multiple systems.
- Coordinate with infrastructure network and application teams to resolve environment-related issues.
- Follow established runbooks and standard operating procedures for monitoring and incident handling.
- Manage database backups restores and recovery testing.
- Enforce SQL Server security standards — logins roles permissions and auditing.
- Participate in root cause analysis and document recurring incidents for proactive resolution.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to support reporting and BI requirements
