Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will provide exceptional evidence-based care to adult acute care patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) a critical care step-down unit. The role involves caring for patients needing airway management acute BIPAP support arterial lines central lines and titrated medicated IV infusions. The RN will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to adapt quickly and provide compassionate care.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the IMCU.
- Monitor patients with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry.
- Manage patients needing airway management and acute BIPAP support.
- Care for patients with arterial lines central lines and those requiring titrated medicated IV infusions.
- Perform patient assessments and implement treatment plans.
- Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic effects and side effects.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (Epic).
- Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State (in hand).
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience.
- Clinical Assessment Medication Administration and Treatment Planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field.
- Epic experience required.
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State (in hand).
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience.

Special Considerations:
- Must be able to work every other weekend.
- No locals (75 miles).

Scheduling:
- 4x12 hour night shifts.
- Shifts are determined and assigned by the unit.
