Job Summary

Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Review and process purchase requisitions for technical goods and services.
Source evaluate and select suppliers based on technical capability quality pricing and reliability.
Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with suppliers.
Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (P.O.s) and ensure timely delivery.
Collaborate with engineering production and maintenance teams to understand technical requirements.
Validate supplier proposals against technical specifications and standards.
Monitor supplier performance resolve issues and manage claims related to quality or delivery.
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies.
Support cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Conduct market research and stay updated on new technologies and suppliers relevant to the business.

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in Engineering Industrial Engineering Supply Chain or related technical field.
Proven experience in procurement preferably as a Technical Buyer or similar role.
Familiarity with sourcing technical or industrial products.
Professional certifications (e.g. CIPS CPM) are an advantage.

Skills

Strong technical understanding of engineering materials machinery equipment or chemicals (depending on industry).
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP Oracle or equivalent).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of procurement best practices and compliance requirements.
