The Wells Fargo Corporate Economics Group is a team of 10 professionals responsible for developing economic forecast scenarios that provide the basis for important financial planning and risk management activities within Wells Fargo and Company. The teams scenarios are essential to loan loss net interest income securities portfolio valuation and other key metrics for financial reporting and risk management including regulatory stress testing.
Position and Responsibilities
We are seeking a proven experienced Economist to lead this dynamic team. As the Chief Economist for the Wells Fargo Corporate Economics Group the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of economists. This entails supervision of their research model development forecasting and presentation of economic and financial conditions.
The Chief Economist will set the research agenda adjudicate competing priorities advise management at the most senior levels of the Corporation and collaborate with financial professionals in risk management and financial planning functions. This individual should demonstrate thought leadership especially at the nexus of banking and economic conditions and enjoy a strong reputation in the community of professional forecasters.
The position is very team-oriented and will require extensive interaction with other economists and banking professionals engaged in analysis forecasting and risk management purposes. Though directly reporting to the Chief Investment Officer the successful candidate will operate with complete independence.
