Job Summary
12 James Surg Onc is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. This is a very busy surgical floor. All perm staff is PCU trained. Staffing Ratios - Goal is 1:4 but can be 1:5 Weekends - variable based on unit needs No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor 2 Years of Experience Required Patient Age group Adults Geriatrics Patient Diagnoses Surgical Oncology: breast thyroid melanoma Hepatobiliary: liver pancreas spleen biliary tract cancers neuroendocrine Colorectal: colon rectal cancer Plastics: reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma Special Procedures/Unit Details Chemotherapy Blood transfusions IV Antibiotics Oncologic emergencies cytokine release syndrome Insulin drips Heparin drips Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Certifications Required - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Certifications Preferred ONS Chemo COMPUTERIZED CHARTING EPIC
