We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our IS Utilities Water team. Reporting to the Finance Manager this full-time role is based in Brisbane and offers the opportunity to play a key part in the financial administration and success of major water infrastructure projects.
Youll work closely with finance and project teams supporting accounts payable payroll time capture and financial reporting processes. This role is ideal for a motivated finance professional looking to broaden their experience in a supportive high-performing team within a Tier 1 organisation.
What Youll Do
- Administer accounts payable and payroll time capture for project teams.
- Raise and maintain purchase orders process invoices and manage subcontractor claims.
- Support monthly financial close activities including accruals cost journals and client invoicing.
- Assist with vendor account maintenance and ensure compliance with Downer systems and controls.
- Collaborate with finance operations and project teams to ensure smooth and accurate financial processes.

What Were Looking For
- 4 years experience in finance administration preferably within a commercial or project-based environment.
- Accounting or Business Administration qualification or advancing towards.
- Experience using JD Edwards Teambinder InEight or similar financial systems.
- Experience in PowerBi (Highly desirable)
- Strong attention to detail organisation and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team.
