Job Summary:
An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to lead a dedicated Adolescent Safeguarding team.
This role involves overseeing complex safeguarding work for vulnerable adolescents at risk of exploitation serious youth violence and contextual harm.
You will provide effective leadership supervision and quality assurance across the team to ensure children and families receive high-quality support and intervention.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in safeguarding adolescents managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering improved outcomes for children through strength-based and trauma-informed practice.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Lead and manage a team of social workers and practitioners working with adolescents at risk of harm including exploitation and serious youth violence.
Oversee assessments care planning and interventions to ensure they are timely proportionate and outcome-focused.
Provide reflective supervision case direction and support to practitioners to ensure safe and effective decision-making.
Ensure work complies with legislative frameworks statutory guidance and local procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding.
Chair strategy meetings multi-agency risk panels and contribute to high-risk decision making alongside partner agencies.
Promote strength-based restorative and trauma-informed approaches to safeguarding practice.
Lead audits quality assurance activity and performance monitoring within the team.
Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within adolescent safeguarding services.
Maintain effective working relationships with external partners including police education health and voluntary sector agencies.
Skills/Experience:
Substantial post-qualifying experience in childrens social care specifically safeguarding adolescents.
Proven leadership and management experience within statutory childrens services.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004 Working Together to Safeguard Children and contextual safeguarding frameworks.
Experience of managing complex risk including child criminal and sexual exploitation missing children and gang-related harm.
Skilled in multi-agency working and chairing complex safeguarding meetings.
Confident in using performance data and quality assurance tools to improve practice.
Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Enhanced DBS and references required prior to start.
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week).
